Nobody Every Came To Jesus Because of Prosperity (Thursday-Sunday)

Everyone who care to know, I am so burdened. Coming to Korea for this amount of time has been the most difficult thing I have ever done. I'm not really home sick, although I do miss my home, I'm not finding Korea difficult in that way...

Thursday is a lost day to me. I think I taught, or maybe not, I am not sure again the day is lost from my memory. Oh how I wish I could rmeber thee Thursday!

...No I find Korea difficult in the sense that you are here to serve these students who have lead some of the most difficult lives on the planet, and you want so desperately to love them, the show them just how much you love them, and ultimately the reason why we love them, but you can't or rather you can't in the way you want to.

^{Matthew 20:25} But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentileslord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. ²⁶  It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,^[c] 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,^[d] 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”


We came to Korea to serve these students, to show Christ most glorious to them, but as the days wane on I realize more and more that these student's are showing us just how glorious Christ truly is. 


Friday: I was going to make gumbo for the school for dinner, but a few of the ingredients I needed were either to expensive or too get or to difficult to find. It was very disappointing, but all is not lost, I will be making bread next week and vegetable sandwiches! I am so excited! I miss cooking and good bread!

  We had team time this Friday, like we do every Friday. We ate at...KFC...y'all don't laugh! It was not my choice! One think I noticed most about food now is either how salty it is or how greasy it. It's really cool! I mean it's almost like a super power! If I come back to America I swear I'm going to be sick!
   After our meal we went to Cafe Bene to play games. We played this one game and it was like you write a phrase and the next person draws it and then the next person guesses what the original phrase was : The girl was sad she was going to hell...hahahanna!
   After games we went to the park to enjoy our evening! It rained!

 I think I first started to realize that I was being taught rather than being the teacher was this Saturday. Hearing some of these kids stories about family trouble, woes in their homeland and so on and so forth, really made me think how can I show them that Christ is enough. How, I have never suffered compared to these, but Christ is faithful. He has prepared the soil for the planting, he has made the soil fruitful for harvest, and he has supplied the labor force, although few, we are enough. The most encouraging words I've heard spoken here are these: "Even though my life is a struggle and my family is still endanger I prat to God and trust that everything will be okay." Y'all like is so tough on these kids, I couldn't imagine saying that after all that has gone on in their lives, but to me they have made Christ look glorious to me.


Saturday: This morning I was going to climb every mountain in Seoul, but God had different plans and brought the rains to us. So I had to just wander my way over to the EUC meeting, even though the subway was out -.-

 Our EUC meeting however inconvenient for me was great. I'm so excited to work with these guys! They all have great hearts!

After the EUC meeting I went to a baseball game at Jamsil, my roommate was supposed to come but for some reason...did not. Korean baseball is awesome! Seriously! It's probably the best thing ever! It's comparable to American Football, but in a different sense. It's great! The energy is crazy awesome, cheerleaders, prizes! It's spectacular!

Sunday, I really needed church this week. I feel so drained emotionally and physically and I really need renewal. Jubilee has a great service, you can feel the love for the Lord in the air. It's indescribable.

This trip gets more and more difficult by the day, it's extremely testing of my faith and my beliefs in Christ. I am confident though that He who began a good work in me will see it to the end sustaining me in all my endeavors. Pray for me, my team, and these wonderful students, whose lives are marred by suffering yet filled with joy in the promise of  Christ. Not all the student here have that Joy though. Pray that they can come to experience it too!
